A male American black bear will beat any jaguar due to weight advantage and better grappling abilities. The largest male jaguars subspecies in South America will be able to take on female black bears. I think this match up will be similar to Ussuri brown bear vs Siberian tiger.

Black bears have quite a large weight range. 300 pounds is the average weight for most males. A 400 to 500 pound male black bear is considered large and anything above 500 pounds is exceptional. Jaguars tend to get larger the further they go down south.

Honestly, a spectacled bear, a giant panda, and even a sloth bear would be a more interesting match.

Black bears and jaguars live in Mexico, perhaps both animals might have cross paths with each other.

I don't know the difference between a jaguar and a leopard. They look so much alike.
