One on one the American bison will be able to chase away the lion and win in a face to face fight due to its bigger bulk. The horns are useful weapons but does not make an animal totally immune. In fact Zebras defend themselves better than wildebeast do. The lion has taken down cape buffalos and girrafes one on one before so I have no doubt it will consider the bison prey as well.

Still lets not forget that lone lions have kills cape buffalos, therefore, it does have a chance to kill a bison.

Still lets not forget that lone lions have kills cape buffalos, therefore, it does have a chance to kill a bison. they only do it by ambush not in a face to face fight but i guess the lion has a pretty slim chance to win by ambush . |
